What is there after the Regional Schools Race ?


The next logical step would be for a school to join the English Schools Ski Association (ESSkiA). Enter the National ESSkiA Qualifying Races, Qualify for the National Finals.

The selection for Development squads then takes place Followed by selection for the English School`s Team for the World Championships You too could be selected for the Olympics !

If you want to follow in the footsteps of Chris Blagden and Steven Edwards, who both raced in the Olympics, there are a number of routes you could follow.

Follow the route detailed above through ESSkiA and Schools Races. Several local racers have become members of the English Schools Team and they took part in the WMSA Schools Race too!

Take part in the ASS Races by registering with the ESC. There are 3 Club National races for under 11`s. Over 11`s can also take part in these, as well as Grand Prix races and the British Championships. You could be selected for the Regional Squad and Team.

Register with BASS and compete in childern`s races, Scotland, BARSC, British and English championships. This can lead to selection for the British Children`s Team.

Register with FIS and enter junior races, as detailed in the BASS section above. You may then be selected for the National Junior Squad.

Then enter senior races which can lead to selection for the National Senior Squad, the British Senior Team, then the British Olympic Team
